Hidden Gem

This beautiful period cottage is hidden away down an unmade road in one of the oldest parts of Barrow Newbarns village. Not that it's a village now, having been built around over the years, but if you look real hard you can still spot the hidden gems.

Nope, You'll have to fill me in on the hidden gems. It's a lovely cottage and remote enough for me to love it if I had a pot to pee in and was able to buy it.

Fantastic blog, Bob.
My dad worked with a building firm renovating this cottage about 20 years back. I popped in to see him one day and there came a ghostly sound from the loft (like one of those musical saws). We all thought it was one of the lads mucking about - until we realised everyone had stopped work and was standing listening to the noise...

This is my aunties cottage, before that my nan's and before that my great nan's and so on. For well over 100 years it has been in the family.
It was condemned around 1980, it had no electric, no running hot water and only a ladder that went through a hatch into the upstairs rooms. It was renovated having electric, gas, hot running water a bathroom and a staircase put in.
I have many fond memories their with my great nana owen and my nana knight.
I hope it will stay in the family for another 100 years.
