Our local newspaper finally printed a piece on a major road closure, which has been causing long delays and big detours for hundreds of motorists. This has been taking place within a mile of the local newspaper offices yet it has taken them five days to report on it. Make me wonder if there is such a thing as a truly local newspaper any longer.

Our hometown newspaper is owned by the New York Times so if we want local news we buy a paper from the next town down the road which is still owned by local people.
By the way I'm in total agreement about the ANACONDA. Not in my vehicle!! (at least not with me in it too)
So very true. newspapers are loosing readers to TV and the net. I prefer the smaller neighborhood papers.
The licence has just been awarded for a new local radio station here but unfortunately the same group who own the local newspaper have been awarded it, they already own the only other local radio station.
Well said about the local rag. The news is always out of date. They call it an Evening Mail and yet its available in the morning with the previous days news in it. The web site is well out of date. Just look at the sports news. I read it the other day and it was about 8 months out of date
